Homework Reminder

165 Students:
1. In your sketchbook, on two pages (NOT BACK TO BACK), divide each page into four sections. In each section practice drawing your face using the blue pencil (For the basic shape) and the red pencil (For the details). Change each drawing a little bit, if your not sure about how much to change your face, refer back to the handout I posted on the Blog about caricature. At the end you should have eight slightly different versions of yourself.
2. If you have not done so yet go to the main page for Blogger.com and set up your own Blog. Email me the link to the Blog when done. If you need help with this see me next class.
 My email: aking@dvc.edu
166 Students:
1. Using the handout regarding character descriptions that I placed into the 166 handout folder on the scratch drive. Write out a character description for each of the main characters in your story as  they are described in the story. Let the description that you put together be the basis for your drawing.
2. In your sketchbook draw a rough version of your main characters in a line up that matches its description. Each character must have a pose that is unique to that character. Below I have a sample lineup and a collection of well known cartoon characters in silhouette that you can use as a guide for creating a pose that conveys attitude and personality.

 3. Go to the Toon Boom website and download a free version of the storyboard program for your personal use: http://www.toonboom.com/products/storyboardpro/trial.php
Once you have done this you will be able to access the introduction videos. We will crack open the program in class on Thursday.

Whoops!

Sorry folks... on the last post I mentioned that the drawing of yourselves at 99 was due on March 9th. This is incorrect... They are due Tuesday, Aug. 28th. Sorry for the confusion!  have a good weekend.

Homework Update
