September 17, Homework

Because of MONSTER DRAW DAY! if you come to the Monster Draw, no drawing homework.

However, if you do not come to the monster
draw you need to draw yourself as if you were a new cast member on the My Little Pony Show as a pony. You must blend your features into the show style. Yes, that means all the guys will be... bronies.

Use your blue pencil to design the basic shape, add

the red pencil for detail. No Graphite!, add ink (both

thick and thin lines), full body, full page. No need to

color your drawings. We will check them out in class.

Either way enjoy and have fun!

September 8, Homework

165 Students
Comic Extension:
1. For homework, please refine your comic, if I made suggestions, please follow up. Most needed to move characters, check perspective or resolve the end of the comics. On Thursday, we will look at your revised, red pencil, comics. Remember... No ink until after I check them on Thursday.
2. Please bring to class a collection of images that you have pulled and placed into an electronic folder from Google, of old, trees in winter, leaves from different angles. If you want to get a head a little, try a couple sketches in your
sketchbook of old trees with branches that look like arms and 6 or 8 leaves.

On Thursday, we will begin the project that is described below.

166 Students:
When we come in on Thursday, we will look at you motion studies at the beginning of class.
See you then,
Arthur

Homework September 3, 2015

All you need to do over the weekend is draw out the comic in red pencil (do not add text, this will be done in class. On Tuesday I will look at each of them, make recommendations, then you will ink them as Tuesday nights homework.
The comics shown below are samples.

For the reaction shot when you show surprise you want to show a close up that really displays over the top emotion. Below are samples of artists that have done just that.
Basil Wolverton

Tex Avery

Richard Williams
