2/13 Recap Homework

Thursdays 5-7 Movie

165 Students
1. Great night tonight, you survived your first night of Illustrator. Once you have converted your artwork a couple of times you will find that its a great program for cleaning up your artwork.
2. On Thursday we will finish converting your drawings in Illustrator and begin working building the leaf drop project. So if you are still working on your designs, please finish them and be ready to scan and color them on Thursday.
3. Homework: Go to the top of the blog and select the Rubber Hose tab, review the information. Your homework, is to draw yourself, in your sketchbook, full page, in red or blue pencil only as a Rubber Hose style character.
* Note: When you draw, only use one side of a page, from now on all homework drawings will be inked after they are drawn. This means that the ink will soak through the page and destroy any drawing that may be on the back side.
4. We will look at your Rubber Hose drawings, next class. Below are two different versions of myself as a Rubber Hose style character.

166 Students
1. Next class will look at your final

draw yourself as a Simpson character.  (Front or 3/4 view only).

2. Tip: four finger hands

3. Tip: Large eyes with dots for pupils

4. Tip: No chins, just a lower lip that goes into the neck.

5. The two pages below are character reference pages from the Simpsons. I have included one male and one female, I have included these so that you can see how the characters are constructed.

6. Note that each drawing shows the character from very specific angles. For the homework, you need to pick a "front view" or a "3/4 Front" view pose to draw yourself. As I said above, No ink, keep it in Red or Blue pencil.

2/1 Recap/Homework

Super Job tonight everyone!

165 Students:
1. Your Zombies were gross yet full of character, nice work.
2. You should all fell very proud, you hung on for the ride and really made some silly test animations. Good Work.
3. On Tuesday we will put all that work to the test and apply it to the creation of a ball bounce. This is a basic animation that everyone needs for a portfolio. We will be able to complete it in one class. I have added a tab at the top of the blog that has information you need to review before next Tuesday.
4. Drawing homework: I have placed a tab at the top of the blog entitled "Single Page Zine" that has the same handouts I gave you in class. However, I have also included images of the one I created from red pencil to the final inked version. Try designing a simple character in red pencil that can be used over and over again for the comic. No need to ink it unless you really like your work. You will be able to ink it after we look at it together on Tuesday.
HAVE FUN!

166 Students:
